Once again, I’ve created a free study guide PDF to accompany the latest Knowledge Keepers book!
What is a Knowledge Keepers Book?
Knowledge Keepers Bookstore is dedicated to finding and republishing old, out-of-print histories that span over 400 years of American stories. These include diaries, letters, autobiographies, journals, and firsthand accounts. I started this venture in 2020 as a way to encourage Americans to preserve our amazing history in their home libraries, and not just in a collection of digital files. E-books and websites are subject to updates and revisions as time progresses. Printed books preserve history as it was written. So, since 2020, Knowlegde Keepers has printed 19 titles, and is on track to do several more each year to come!

Aeroplane: The Wright Brothers
When Orville and Wilbur Wright successfully flew their powered aeroplane for almost 60 seconds, the world was forever changed. Fred C. Kelly tells the story of this incredible pair of inventor brothers in the only biography authorized by Orville Wright, originally published in 1943.
From their modest childhood and curious natures to the printing company and bicycle shops they owned, the Wright brothers shared an amazing thirst for knowledge and dedication that would not allow them to give up on their experiments. With the success of their powered flying machine, they continued to tinker and improve the airplane model they had invented, demonstrate human flight, and eventually went into the business of producing airplanes. They spent years on patent lawsuits and protecting their legacy with the Smithsonian Institution.
This Knowledge Keepers edition of the classic Wright Brothers biography includes 36 photos, both original and new footnotes, and an epilogue. Author Kelly narrates the life and explorations of Orville and Wilbur without getting overly technical; it’s an easy-to-read historical account of one of the greatest inventions of mankind.

How to Use This Guide
Aeroplane: The Wright Brothers by Fred C. Kelly is a family friendly book for all ages of readers. It is great for independent readers in their teens, or as a family read-aloud to all ages.
I create my study guides for the way I homeschool: large family-group style, with all of my kids learning together as much as possible. When homeschooling with a book like this, I read aloud to all ages. We will follow the rabbit trails together. Younger kids may do less, while older kids will certainly do more.
Each chapter will look a bit different throughout the guide, depending on the topics. Some chapters may have maps, while others may be more scientific. Homeschooling allows for so much flexibility in ages and grade levels, and I want you to have that flexibility with this guide! So, it’s up to you to choose which activities to use in your home.
Copywork: Print or cursive copywork is suitable for all ages, from beginning readers to high school students. I have inserted various quotes from the Wright brothers for copy work use. Feel free to adjust the length of the assignment to fit the needs of your own children.
Map Activities: Wherever possible, geography activities are included. Seeing historic places on a map is so important, and is a natural way to learn geography. These are great for most ages, from elementary through high school. If your students are well-versed in world geography, you can certainly skip these.
Concepts for Older Students: Get your teens talking about the content of the book! Ask them to ponder and explore some thoughts that are not necessarily written in the text. Whether it’s through verbal conversation with the family or in the form of a written report, get them thinking and digging deeper.
BONUS LINKS: There are lots of fun added resources on the internet, so I’ve created a special page for you to access them all in one place on my website. Just go to KnowledgeKeepersBoostore.com/BonusLinks and click on the Aeroplane book. The links are divided by chapter, along with more reading recommendations.
