One of my favorite things about homeschooling is that we are free to do it anytime, anywhere. School isn’t just a classroom and some textbooks. It’s about learning, and that can happen in many different surroundings.
So last week we picked up our books and headed to the beach. This was our classroom for the day:
We played in the sand and in the water.
Claudia brought her Elsie Dinsmore to read and covered many chapters while relaxing in the sun.
We also enjoyed the hiking trails. 
And since it was school at the beach, we read almost an entire book from our Sonlight reading list.
Another great thing about homeschooling is that everyone else was at school so we had the beach to ourselves!
It was a fun day of play, relaxation, reading, hiking, and snacking. And since my husband enouraged us to buy a Texas State Parks pass, I think we’ll do this more often!
