I made this recipe up many years ago and have usually had a tradition of serving it on Friday mornings. My whole family LOVES these biscuits. I hope you will, too.
- 2 cups flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 3/4 to 1 cup milk
- 1/4 cup cooking oil
- about 6 slices cooked, crumbled bacon (pork, turkey, or veggie will work)
- about 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or more if you like cheese!)
Heat oven to 400 degrees.
In large mixing bowl mix together flour, baking powder, and salt. Add bacon and cheese. Mix well. Add milk and oil. If dough seems dry, add more milk.
Drop by large spoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet. Bake 10-12 minutes.
Makes 10-15 biscuits, depending on size.
Notes: In the ingredients, I say “about” because I don’t usually measure this stuff. I just keep adding until it looks good.
I like to have mine with a large glass of sweet tea in the morning. They’re very filling!
