There are numerous attacks on Christianity today, but if you pay close attention, most of them attack the truth of Genesis:
* God created the world, and it was very good
* darkness and death entered the world after sin
* God created male and female
* the earth is young
* God punishes sin
* we are all one race
…and so much more.
Our children WILL face these questions, and it is up to us to prepare them. They will either answer with the confidence of trusting God’s word, or they will flounder because they aren’t sure what the truth is.
“Our children are facing cultural “giants” that previous generations could never have imagined. Secularism, depravity, immorality, and apathy taunt Christians with a barrage of hate and intolerance. Will our children be equipped to stand strong against these giants, or will they be overcome? That is the question Christian parents are asking. In this book, Ken Ham gives us a powerful and up-to-date message about the importance of raising strong believers who can stand in the face of a world that will challenge, disparage, and seek to eliminate their faith. He also helps prepare parents to equip the next generation to thrive in the face of cultural adversity and emerge as tomorrow’s Christian leaders.” (Ken Ham, Will They Stand?)
Dear parents, point them to the truth, and do it regularly. If you aren’t sure what the truth us, learn it with them. Equip your family to boldly defend God’s word. We are responsible for the next generation. We are tasked with giving our children a powerful foundation of faith.

Answers in Genesis is helping Christians do this with their incredible books, DVDs, children’s resources, online apologetics courses, AnswersTV channel, and homeschool curriculum. I really want to encourage you to check out their store and begin to learn and teach your children the relevance of scripture in this modern culture. The answers are truly in Genesis.
As homeschool parents, you have the opportunity to choose the best materials out there for your children. And I can tell you that the quality and depth of Answers in Genesis books and curriculum are some of the best. I’ll share some of my favorites here, but I encourage you to take a little time to browse their site. Read the articles on the blog. Watch some of the videos. And see what excellent resources you can include in your home and school.

Answers in Genesis Homeschool curriculum and Resources
Answers Bible Curriculum – I used this to teach a children’s class at my church. The age group was 8-12 year olds. It was an easy-to–teach curriculum that introduced the students to the 7 Cs of history (a trademark of Answers in Genesis), and then followed with an entire program that addressed everything kids need to know about the age of the earth, the global flood, dinosaurs, the ice age, race, sin and death, and so much more. The set comes with the teacher manual, a DVD with songs and slideshows for class time, and take-home sheets with activities. Every lesson was amazing. Even though I have been well-versed in these topics for most of my adult life, I was continually impressed with the way they were presented for younger children. This is a valuable resource for biblical apologetics for young children in a homeschool setting.
Dinosaurs for Kids – My son was obsessed with dinosaurs when he was little, and Ken Ham’s book was full of everything he wanted to know, with the addition of apologetic connections for his young mind. Great illustrations, answers, and Christian worldview. Perfect.
Online courses – One of the reasons I love the apologetics ministry of Answers in Genesis is because we have a generation (or two) of adult Christians who were not taught that God’s word is true and reliable, or much of a truly biblical worldview at all. That is why we see so many Christians falling prey to cultural compromise on so many issues, and why we see their children ambivalent to the Christian faith. Friends, we have eternity to think about. A biblical worldview affects everything, and it should be more obvious than ever. All of the online courses at Answers in Genesis provide in-depth bible teaching on the origin of the earth, gender, race, climate change, human sexuality, the reliability of scripture, and more. You need these and your children need them. The courses are great for high school and even some middle school students. All of my kids listened in, even when they weren’t required to.
During the Covid pandemic, AiG offered a great bundle on the entire Creation Apologetics set, which we purchased and used for my son’s high school curriculum. It is excellent! There are videos by Ken Ham and many other AiG speakers and scientists, articles to read, and even quizzes at the end of each session. I took the course with my son because it was so interesting.
The Answers Books for Kids – These are short, fun Q&A books for young children about everything a kid asks. Genesis, Adam, Noah, languages, dinosaurs, Jesus, and so much more.
Answers Books – The originals for teens and adults. Easy and fun reading for anyone who wants to dive into Genesis apologetics.
One Race One Blood– Talk about a current and necessary discussion! Whether you want a book, a video, or a children’s book on race with a biblical foundation, you will find it with One Race One Blood. As always, the answers are in Genesis.
The Ten Minute Bible Journey – For families who might not have ever studied the Bible together before, this is the perfect starting point. It’s an exciting chronological journey through the Bible in just a few minutes per day. Great for all ages, in my opinion. This is a favorite Answers in Genesis resource.
The Answers Family Bible Devotional Set is a great follow up to the Ten Minute Bible Journey, or a good choice for those looking for something new. I’m not a huge fan of “devotional books,” but this one is straight scripture! It would work for family worship time or as a curriculum for homeschool students in middle and high school. We purchased the set at the Ark Encounter bookstore when we visited there, and began using it right away.
Answers Bible Curriculum for Homeschool – This growing list of homeschool curriculum is so exciting! Biblical answers and educational guides on the human body, the physical world, today’s culture, Noah’s ark, the Genesis account of creation, the Christian life, and the truth of God are all here. If you are looking for resources for giving your students of all ages biblical truth in their everyday education, these resources are the place to start. Find books, full curriculum, and DVDs that will teach your children about the world God created and a strong biblical worldview.
The 101 Series Science Curriculum: This is what we use for high school science. You can read my full review here.
Social Issues Pocket Guide – This is a short and easy read that has real life application for teens and young adults in today’s culture. We gave our teen son a whole stack of these pocket guides for Christmas. They are perfect for those who don’t want to read long books!
Discover God’s Design DVD series – These are a really fun addition to a high school (or possibly middle school) science curriculum. Studying anatomy is fun, but it’s really enlightening in the light of creation apologetics. Watch these for fun or with your homeschool lessons.
There are so many of their resources that we haven’t even tried yet (it’s a huge bookstore!) but my experience with everything they offer gives me the confidence to recommend the homeschool science programs, Answers Magazine, and Sunday School curriculum (and VBS curriculum – in 2022 it was based on the Sanctity of Life!).

And moms and dads, invest in a streaming subscription to Answers.TV. It’s inexpensive and has a wide variety of videos for every member of the family. There are news segments that keep you informed about what’s going on in the culture, animated shows for kids, videos that feature hands-on experiments for science lessons, info about the Ark Encounter and Creation Museum, full events, etc. (You can try it out with a free trial!)
I want to stress the importance of using resources like these for your family. Too many Christians today don’t even know what a biblical worldview is, and they are the same people watching their children grow up and leave the church. This is not a coincidence. It is so important for Christians to know God’s word, understand how relevant it is even today, and how it is being used as a weapon against our kids.
Equip your kids with a solid foundation. Give them education they need. You can do it at home with Answers in Genesis!
