Welcome to the third segment of my Gift Guide series: The Jane Austen Gift Guide.
I’m excited to share a bunch of ideas for the Jane Austen fan in your life, and most of my suggestions come from my own collection! The rest are from the ideas I’ve been collecting for a few years. There is something here for all ages.
I discovered Austen’s novels as an adult and became an instant fan. My favorite way to relax and sew is with the BBC Pride and Prejudice series on the TV, and I keep all of her novels in my Audible library for when I take a walk or hang out laundry. Now that I have teenagers, I even incorporate Jane Austen into our homeschool.

This game is on my wish list! From the creator’s website: Marrying Mr. Darcy is a strategy card game where players are one of the female characters from Jane Austen’s novel Pride and Prejudice. Players work to improve themselves and attract the attention of the available Suitors. The ladies do this by attending Events and improving their Characters, but advantage can be gained by the use of Cunning. All of their efforts are in hopes of marrying well and becoming the most satisfied character at the end of the game! Find more Jane Austen board games here.

If you’ve even thought about having a Jane Austen party, you’ll need authentic recipes! This cookbook from Victorian Trading Company is perfect: “One of Jane’s dearest friends, Martha Lloyd, resided with the family and recorded over 100 recipes in her household book. An authentic selection of their fare has been adapted to modern cooking, and is illustrated with an intriguing introduction describing Jane’s passion for food with cited letters and incidents. Fruit butters, savory soups and herb pudding are but three of the natural recipes enjoyed by the Austens.”
For the crafty Jane Austen fan, this book is perfect! “Based on the novels of Jane Austen, this beautifully presented book is for craft enthusiasts and lovers of history and literature alike. A celebration of the Regency period, each of the 18 sewing, needlecraft, knitting, paper and decorative projects is accompanied by an extract from the relevant novel, historical notes, full colour photographs and illustrated step by step instructions for authentic replication.”
