A few months ago, I taught a class called “Globe Trotters” at my homeschool co-op. It was a weekly trip around the world, learning about a new country every week. There was one book that I used every week to show my students the lifestyles of different children around the world.
Many, many countries are represented in this book. For each 2-page spread, there is a child featured, and the following information (with lots of photos) is given: their home, family, school, playtime, and foods. For my students, this was THE most interesting book each week!
The kids were either amazed or grossed out by the foods that other children eat!
Each child’s family and religion is discussed in small bits for young readers.
